Provisions has its roots in the southwest of France, near Albi, where good food, local specialities and the pleasure of sharing them have always been part of everyday life.
It's a place we know well, and one that continues to inspire our curiosity for the food, places and people behind the products we discover.
From France to Ireland
Today, Provisions is based in County Cork, Ireland — a country we've come to know and love for its people, its character and its openness to new experiences.
Our background in the wine trade has taken us through different sides of the business, from introducing international wines to French customers to representing an established wine producer from the Loire Valley.
Along the way, we discovered how much we enjoy helping independent retailers find something new: a product they can get excited about, recommend and share with their own customers.
The idea behind Provisions
Provisions grew from a desire to explore a different path, meet new people and bring good products to the attention of those who might appreciate them.
We believe that discovering something delicious is only the beginning. There's also the pleasure of learning where it comes from, understanding what makes it special and passing that discovery on.
That's what we hope to do through Provisions: bring carefully selected French food specialities to independent retailers in Ireland, and give good products — and the people who sell them — an opportunity to shine.
